Imperium3 had initially planned to build a factory at Endicott’s Huron campus by the end of 2019, bringing more than 200 jobs to the area. That date has now been moved up, after the consortium snagged $200 million of machinery and assets in a bankruptcy auction.

Katheryn Cherny, a microbiology graduate student and the founder of MicroBELLA Cosmetics, has received funding from Binghamton University to attend In-Cosmetics Global, a conference that brings together innovators in personal care products and ingredients.

The purpose of the event, hosted at Galaxy Brewing Company in Downtown Binghamton, was to connect women involved in entrepreneurship so they could share advice and trade stories. Several women entrepreneurs with their own businesses attended the mixer, including Rachel Jenks, who owns Rtistry By Design, a graphic design company based out of the Koffman Southern Tier Incubator.

I-Corps is a National Science Foundation (NSF) program designed to help researchers and scientists transition their projects from the lab to the marketplace. Binghamton’s second cohort, consisting of seven local teams, completed the two-week program this weekend.
