The Koffman’s Clean Energy Incubator Program is designed to empower innovative startups in the clean energy, cleantech, and climate tech sectors. Our nationally recognized program provides crucial resources, expert mentorship, and cutting-edge facilities to drive the growth and success of our participants.

We offer valuable connections, enabling startups to network with key stakeholders and potential investors. Our state-of-the-art laboratories provide access to advanced technology and research facilities, fostering innovation and development.

Personalized Mentorship:
Members benefit from personalized mentorship with Mike Jagielski, our Director of Clean Energy Incubator Programming, focusing on business strategies, monetization, sales enablement, handling objections, and networking opportunities. Additionally, members can access Climate Startup Support mentorship through the CEI network, working with over 120 experienced entrepreneurs-in-residence (EIRs) on projects like customer discovery, pitch coaching, and grant opportunities. The process includes application submission, need discussion, EIR selection, project scoping, and monthly progress reporting.

Who Should Apply?
We seek ventures dedicated to the expansion of clean energy, cleantech, or climate tech, especially those focusing on battery and energy storage to reduce or mitigate carbon emissions. Examples of technologies and industries include:

Preference is given to companies looking to establish or grow their presence in New York State through physical office space, hiring, manufacturing, or sales. Membership applications are reviewed and accepted on a rolling basis.

NENY CHARGEUP ACCELERATOR
ChargeUp, the nation’s first and only accelerator dedicated to supporting battery and energy storage startups, supports startups developing emerging solutions in the battery and energy storage space, across the entire value chain, by advancing their technology commercialization and investor readiness. Exclusively designed for battery and energy storage startups, ChargeUp empowers startups to advance their technology commercialization and investor readiness.
Participants receive comprehensive support including a $25,000 investment, mentorship from distinguished technical experts, and unparalleled access to state-of-the-art facilities and resources.The hybrid 6-month program combines virtual learning with select in-person sessions at the Koffman. The program includes lectures, discussions and assignments to fast track the investor readiness of your business, while connecting you with industry experts and resources in the federally designated Battery Tech Hub.
ChargeUp is made possible by New Energy New York and an innovation grant from the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) and modeled after NextCorps Luminate, the world’s largest accelerator for deep tech startups
